Jackalberry Lodge

Jackalberry Lodge is situated within the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, which is considered one of the world's premier areas for viewing the Big Five game animals. The lodge is named after the Jackalberry Tree that is found widely in the bushveld area. The majestic Drakensberg Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for this intimate camp, offering magnificent views, understated luxury, and a restful, ethnic ambiance that blends harmoniously with nature.

The bush around the lodge is teeming with game, with more than 60 species of wildlife found in the immediate vicinity, including lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, hyena, and cheetah. Jackalberry Lodge is also a paradise for birdwatchers, where more than 280 species have been recorded.

The lodge offers chalet-style rooms with understated luxury, sumptuous en-suite bathrooms featuring a bath, double hand basins, and indoor and outdoor showers. Guests can choose from the Luxury Suite, the Family Room, or five Standard Chalet-Style Rooms. The guest rooms have two twin beds or one king-size bed, while the Family Room has two twin beds and one queen-size bed.

All rooms are equipped with mini-bars, electronic room safes, hair dryers, tea and coffee-making facilities, telephones, mosquito nets, and air conditioning. All rooms open onto patios. The facilities at Jackalberry Lodge include a swimming pool, a curio shop, conference facilities, a library, and a boma.
