Jonkmanshof

Jonkmanshof is a Cape Dutch farmhouse that was built in 1854, located in the town of Montagu, within South Africa's Little Karoo region. The farmhouse is characterized by its rustic charm and timeless allure. It features a warm ochre hue, typical of traditional Cape Dutch architecture, and is surrounded by a gravel garden adorned with small ponds and embraced by the majestic mountainous wilderness.

Upon entering the farmhouse, visitors are transported to a world filled with South African heritage and nostalgia. The flooring is adorned with meticulously crafted clay tiles, and the ceilings are made of original river-reed construction, evoking a sense of authenticity and history. Each room within the farmhouse is carefully curated with magnificent antiques that bear the marks of a well-loved past.

The living room is a cozy space, featuring an original fireplace that bathes the room in a warm glow. The grand and inviting kitchen serves as a respite from the summer heat, where visitors can indulge in delectable treats from the citrus garden during leisurely afternoon strolls. The library, affectionately known as the 'Room of Curiosities,' houses century-old books and hidden treasures, inviting guests to lose themselves in enchanting tales.

Jonkmanshof is a sanctuary of rare beauty, exuding elegance, eccentricity, and a distinguished air. One of the rooms, referred to as Room 1, features twin beds that can be made up as a king-size bed, accompanied by an en-suite bathroom with garden views. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, a bathtub, twin basins, and underfloor heating for the winter months.
