Joubertskraal Farm is situated in the Kouga Mountains, covering an area of 1500 hectares of rugged kloofs and valleys. It borders the southern aspect of the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve. The farm offers various activities for visitors, including hiking along trails amidst the mountain fynbos, horse riding, mountain biking, birding, and stargazing.

The Campsite on the farm features a basic ablution shed with a flush toilet and a hot shower. There is a beautiful old wild olive tree under which visitors can camp, and braai facilities are provided. The farm management ensures privacy and peace by allowing only one set of visitors at a time, granting them exclusive access to the premises.

Joubertskraal Farm operates on the principles of sustainable permaculture farming, with the ethos of restoring the land to its natural state and rehabilitating damaged areas. The materials used in creating the Campsite were either recycled or found on the farm itself, and the braai wood comprises alien vegetation cleared from the site. Visitors are provided with unlimited firewood, but they are requested to bring their own drinking water.

The dirt road leading to the farm is in poor condition, and although a 4x4 vehicle is not necessary, low clearance vehicles are not recommended. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to travel the dirt road from Kareedouw, making the farm unsuitable for daily trips to and from the coast. Visitors are asked to separate their waste, which will be taken to the recycling depot in St Francis Bay.
