The Kalahari Tent Camp is located within the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, which spans the border between South Africa and Botswana. It is situated on the South African side of the park, high up on a red sand dune overlooking a waterhole in the dry bed of the ancient Auob River. The park is characterized by red dunes, scrub vegetation, and herds of gemsbok, springbok, eland, and blue wildebeest that follow the seasons. Imposing camel thorn trees provide shade for large black-maned lions, and vantage points for leopards and various raptors.

The Kalahari Tent Camp is an exclusive getaway catering to discerning visitors. It features 15 desert tents, each elegantly decorated with rustic finishes using wood, sand, and canvas exteriors, all in colors that resonate with the park's natural hues. The tents offer two single beds. The camp is designed to provide a sense of seclusion, where residents feel they have only themselves and the desert for company.

The tent camp is located 3 km from the Mata-Mata Rest Camp, where residents can refuel and obtain basic supplies from the shop. It is important to note that the rates for the Kalahari Tent Camp are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes will include the 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which must be paid directly to the camp upon arrival.
