Kanon Private Nature Reserve

Kanon Private Nature Reserve is a 187-hectare protected coastal sanctuary located 42 kilometers from Mossel Bay on South Africa's Cape South Coast. The reserve features 3.2 kilometers of pristine coastline, characterized by wild beaches, rock pools, natural sand dunes, and protected fynbos vegetation.

The property offers four distinct accommodation options. Khoekhoen Beach Lodge is a luxury tented camp comprising four individually appointed spacious tent dwellings, situated just behind the low dune zone overlooking the Indian Ocean. Periwinkel, positioned in isolation at Cape Vacca's tip, is styled in traditional Cape architecture and offers five rooms accommodating up to nine guests. Shell Catcher, dating back to 1890, is one of Kanon's oldest buildings, featuring three en-suite bedrooms and historic wooden floors. Nguni View, recently renovated, is particularly popular with families and offers an open-plan living space with second-story sea views and extensive deck areas.

The reserve, established in 2003, forms part of the Gouritz Eastern Coastal Corridor and plays a vital role in coastal conservation.
