Kariega Game Reserve - The Homestead

Kenton-on-Sea, Eastern Cape

Kariega Game Reserve is a family-owned and operated private game reserve spanning across nearly 9000 hectares of pristine wilderness. It encompasses five different eco-systems, including riverine forest, valley bushveld, savannah grasslands, fynbos, and acacia woodlands. The reserve is malaria-free and home to the Big 5 (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and White rhino) as well as more than 25 other species of game and over 280 species of birds.

The Homestead is a private lodge located in a remote and secluded part of the reserve. It offers its guests all the comforts, conveniences, and luxuries of their own home. With five spacious en-suite bedrooms, a bar, swimming pool, satellite TV, and a playroom for children, it can accommodate up to 10 guests. The Homestead provides guests with a dedicated game ranger and chef, allowing them to plan their day according to their specific needs and preferences.

The reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, at the end of the famous Garden Route. It incorporates the Kariega and Bushmans Rivers and is located 14 km from Kenton-on-Sea and 141 km from Port Elizabeth. Kariega prides itself on the abundance of general game and birdlife, in addition to the Big 5. A unique feature of the reserve is the ability to walk freely and safely among the game in an area that excludes the dangerous Big 5 animals.
