Karoo Khaya is a small-holding located within walking distance from the center of the town of Prince Albert. The owners, Pete and Megan, aim to provide a relaxing home away from home experience where guests can share their passion for the Karoo region and explore the property.

Guests are welcome to wander through the vast vegetable garden, fruit orchards, and olive groves on the premises. They can also visit the free-range animals on the property. The absence of streetlights and town noises contributes to the tranquil Karoo atmosphere.

Karoo Khaya features four cottages, each set in a peaceful garden with a rock plunge pool and waterfall. A boma with braai facilities is available, and wood and braai equipment are provided. The cottages are decorated with touches of the old Karoo style, offering comfortable beds, quality linens, and rustic touches. Each room contains information about Prince Albert and its surroundings. The cottages are serviced daily.

An optional full Karoo breakfast is served at the owners' home for an additional fee. Jams, preserves, smoked olives, and olive oil produced on the property are available for purchase in the rooms. A guest lounge with DStv and an extensive library overlooks the garden and offers expansive views of the mountains and distant hills. Wi-Fi is available on the premises.

Being a working small-holding, guests are encouraged to wander around and pick vegetables for their meals. Children are welcome to help with feeding the animals. Pets are allowed by prior arrangement. Secure parking is available on-site.

Prince Albert is located at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains, on the edge of the Great Karoo. It is a tranquil place known for its lamb, fruits, cheeses, and hospitality. The town is still a vibrant working community.

Children enjoy feeding the farm animals, and picking vegetables for dinner is a great family activity. Guests can splash together in the plunge pool. Space is abundant at Karoo Khaya. One of the cottages features a queen bed in an open-plan dining area and two single beds in a separate bedroom. It also has a separate bath, shower, basin, and toilet, making it a fully self-catering unit.
