The Karoo National Park Sanparks is located in the Great Karoo, which is a vast and unforgiving landscape. As the largest ecosystem in South Africa, the Karoo is home to a fascinating diversity of life, all of which have adapted to survive in these harsh conditions.
The park offers various accommodation options, including eight Cape Dutch style family units, each with two bedrooms (six beds in total), en suite bathrooms (bath and shower), DSTV (limited channels), and fully equipped kitchens (kettle, toaster, stove, oven, fridge, cutlery, and crockery). One unit has been adapted for persons with limited mobility and contains a bath only.
Additionally, there are nineteen Cape Dutch style units, each with a bathroom (shower and bath), an open-plan area with two single beds and a double sleeper couch, and a kitchenette with basic equipment. Two of these units have been adapted for persons with limited mobility and contain showers only.
The park also features ten Cape Dutch style cottages, each with one bedroom (double bed), an open-plan kitchen (microwave and three-plate hob), a lounge area, a bathroom (shower), and DSTV (limited channels).
All accommodation units are serviced daily and equipped with bedding and towels.
For camping enthusiasts, the Karoo National Park Sanparks offers twenty-four award-winning camping and caravan campsites amidst a veritable green oasis in the rugged Karoo environment. These sites provide communal ablutions (showers and baths), kitchen facilities with stove plates and scullery, and 220V power points for caravans.
It is important to note that the rates for accommodation are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes will include the 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which must be paid directly to the camp upon arrival. Six people are permitted per campsite, and guests must supply their own camping equipment and tents.
