Kathu Lodge

Kathu Lodge is situated in an upmarket suburb of Kathu, between the towns of Kuruman and Upington in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The guesthouse is well-known among mining companies and consultants visiting the Iron Ore and Manganese Mines in the area. It also caters to adventure tourists who are exploring the Kalahari or traveling to Botswana. Additionally, the lodge offers overnight accommodation for travelers on the N14 highway, being an ideal stopover point between Gauteng and the Diamond Coast or West Coast.

The accommodation comprises five standard rooms and two double room family units. Guests have the option of enjoying pre-packed meals or self-catering facilities. The family units are equipped with fully-equipped kitchens to accommodate larger families. All guests have access to luxury en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, DStv (satellite television), braai (barbeque) facilities, and a swimming pool and Ivy tea garden on the premises. The lodge is pet-friendly and offers a local transport service, laundry facilities, and parking on-site.

Nearby attractions include the Kalahari Golf Club with a gym and heated pool, the Wonderwerk Cave, Tswalo Game Reserve, Molopo Nature Reserve, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, and the Witsand Roaring Dunes. The family units feature a double bed in the first bedroom and either two single beds or a king-size bed in the second bedroom, with each bedroom having an en-suite bathroom. The unit includes a fully-equipped kitchen, two separate televisions with DStv (hotel package), and private braai facilities. There is also a sleeper couch in the living room for children.
