Kimbo Lodge Backpackers

Kimbo Lodge Backpackers is situated on the corner of Buitenkant and Roeland Streets, on the border between the Gardens suburb and the central business district of Cape Town. The establishment, which was built in 1895, previously served as a starting point for horse-drawn carriages leaving Cape Town for Kimberley.

The property features a restaurant called The Kitchen, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also has a pub that operates 24 hours a day, where guests can enjoy drinks at the same counter that diamond prospectors used 120 years ago. From the backpackers' accommodation, guests can admire views of Table Mountain or take a short walk to the District Six Museum.

Located on the edge of the city, Kimbo Lodge Backpackers is within a five-minute walk from Parliament and the Cape Castle, and a 15-minute drive from the famous Table Mountain Cableway. The hotel offers 12 bedrooms and a sunset balcony. On occasion, the backpackers' accommodation may be noisy due to the lively late-night pub on the ground floor.

The establishment caters to families, offering a family room with a triple room featuring an en-suite shower, a double bed, a single bed, a TV, and a tea/coffee station. The room is comfortable and provides views of Table Mountain from a spacious balcony.
