Knowsley Country Cottage

Knowsley Country Cottage is located on a stock farm in the scenic Winterberg Nature Conservancy of the Eastern Cape, approximately 18 kilometers from Tarkastad. It provides a convenient stop for travelers and holiday-makers seeking a country getaway. The accommodation is available on a self-catering basis.

The Farm House can accommodate up to eight people and is fully equipped for self-catering. It features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a spacious lounge with a large fireplace, perfect for cold winter evenings. Additionally, there is an outside Cottage that sleeps two, with a kitchenette, shower, and toilet. The property features a spacious garden with a large pool and a beautiful braai area, where firewood can be purchased.

Leisure facilities on-site include tennis courts and a full-size lawn bowling green. There are also various farm outings for children, including a 4x4 drive to a spectacular lookout point. Guests can enjoy walking and biking trails on the farm, while the Farm House with its large garden and spacious veranda offers a perfect place to relax and gaze out at the landmark mountain called Martha.

For bookings of less than two people, a unit rate of R910 applies. The farm is an ideal venue for a traditional farm-style wedding, with a large marquee tent on the lawn. A beautiful, quaint stone chapel is located 10 kilometers away from Knowsley. Children can participate in activities such as feeding lambs and horse riding.

The cottage is suitable for families with children or couples and friends. It features four well-appointed bedrooms and two bathrooms, a spacious lounge and dining room with a beautiful, large log fireplace. The main room has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed, while the remaining two rooms each have a king-size bed that can be converted to two single beds upon request. The kitchenette is fully equipped for self-catering or bed and breakfast, with the option of enjoying delicious farm-cooked meals. The cottage also has a small pool with a beautiful braai area, and a bag of wood is provided.
