Koensrust Tented Camp

Koensrust Tented Camp is a secluded haven situated along the banks of the Duiwenhoks river, located on the western boundary of the Koensrust property. It is located among milkwood trees and aloes, overlooking a small oxbow of the river. The camp can accommodate eight people in three separate canvas cabins, two of which are fitted with queen-sized beds, and one with four single beds.

The camp features a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area housed in a converted boat shed. Surrounding the kitchen and cabins is a large, partly covered wrap-around wooden deck, complete with picnic tables, a bar area, and a spacious pit braai. An inside hot-water shower is provided, and the flush toilet is located in an outhouse with a beautiful view, situated under the milkwood trees just above the sheds.

It is important to note that the last 200 meters of the track leading down to the river is very steep. Guests wishing to drive themselves down require a 4x4 vehicle with low range capability and must sign an indemnity form. Those without a suitable 4x4 vehicle can arrange for the staff to transport their belongings to and from the camp upon prior request.

The Tented River Camp offers a luxurious camping experience, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the river and birdlife. Guests can enjoy fishing, swimming, or canoeing in the river, and dogs are welcome at the camp.
