Kohande

Kohande is situated in the scenic Leeuwkloof Valley Conservancy in Gauteng, just north-east of Pretoria at Dewagensdrift in the heart of Dinokeng. It is an ideal destination for nature lovers and bird watching. Kohande offers three luxury tents, two of which have their own wood-fired hot tubs on the patio. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, making self-catering a pleasure.

Each tent has its own Braai Bome for extra privacy. Guests can enjoy the crisp, clear water at the swimming pool with a breathtaking view over the bushveld. While the tents are private, groups booking together can still enjoy time with friends while maintaining their own privacy. Kohande offers lovely panoramic views over the bushveld, where visitors can relax and enjoy spectacular sunsets and listen to the call of jackals. In the early mornings, guests may even hear the roar of lions.

Kohande is a great place to gaze at the stars, away from the noisy traffic. Free-roaming game such as kudu, eland, and nyala, among others, can be viewed at leisure. The establishment is also a bird watcher's paradise, with parrots, flycatchers, and many more inhabiting the valley. Kohande is within easy reach of Pretoria, Johannesburg, and the OR Tambo, Wonderboom, and Lanseria Airports.

Kohande is located 20 km away from Cullinan, a historic small town renowned worldwide for its diamonds. Cullinan offers museums, dining places, and a rich culture. The Dinokeng Game Reserve is virtually on Kohande's doorstep, with a 30-minute drive to its gates. The Dinokeng Game Reserve is unique as the only residential Big5 game reserve worldwide located within the boundaries of a metro city. Visitors can book a game drive or do a self-drive through the Reserve.

The Castonea tent has been upgraded with a Kolkol wood-fired hot tub, consisting of a wood-burning furnace that heats the hot tub. Wood is supplied, and the luxury safari tent includes a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and hand washbasin. All linen and bedding are provided. There is a fan for cooling during hot summer nights and an electric blanket for warmth during cold months.

The tent has a well-equipped kitchenette with a gas hob, a microwave oven, a fridge-freezer, and all necessary cutlery and crockery. Braai utensils are included. Each tent has its own parking next to the tent, as well as a private boma with braai facilities, allowing guests to enjoy a braai or relax in front of a campfire.
