Kruger Cottage is a charming three-bedroom thatched house located in Marloth Park, a tranquil nature conservancy bordering the southern boundary of Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The property offers exclusive-use accommodation with three en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, and a spacious living area.
The cottage's design features vaulted thatch ceilings, monkey-proof windows with mosquito nets, and powerful ceiling fans throughout. The main bedroom contains a double bed, while the other two rooms each have two single beds. Additional sleeping space is available via a sleeper couch in the lounge, allowing the property to accommodate up to eight guests.
A notable feature of Marloth Park is its unfenced properties, allowing wildlife to roam freely among the houses. Guests regularly encounter zebras, ostriches, giraffes, warthogs, mongooses, impala, monkeys, and kudu, along with abundant birdlife. The covered veranda, splash pool, and BBQ area provide excellent viewing opportunities, while nighttime brings the sounds of lions, owls, and hippos from the nearby Crocodile River.
Located approximately one hour from Nelspruit and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, and five hours from Johannesburg, the cottage serves as an ideal base for exploring the region. The property is within easy reach of Kruger National Park's Malelane and Crocodile Bridge gates, as well as the borders of Swaziland and Mozambique, making day trips to these destinations convenient.
Marloth Park itself offers various amenities through its Bush Center, including restaurants, a pub with a big screen TV, a swimming pool, filling station, laundry facilities, liquor stores, a butcher, and two mini supermarkets. The park also features its own game reserve, Lionspruit, which houses dangerous game including lions, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards.
