Kwelanga River Lodge

Kwelanga River Lodge, a family-run establishment, is situated on the banks of the Orange River in Vioolsdrif, Northern Cape, South Africa. The lodge offers a combination of comfortable accommodation options and adventure activities, specializing in river rafting through their sister company, Rapid Adventures.

The accommodation offerings include various chalet options and two distinct camping areas. There are seven chalets in total, comprising three 2-sleeper units, one 3-sleeper unit, one 4-sleeper unit, and two 5-sleeper units. All chalets feature single-room open-plan layouts with separate bathrooms, and come fully equipped with essential amenities including towels, cutlery, mini-fridges, kettles, and outdoor braai (barbecue) facilities.

For camping enthusiasts, the Riverside Campsites offer private bathrooms and kitchen wash-up areas, while the Fish Eagle Campsites provide shared facilities. Both camping areas include electrical points, lighting, and braai pits, with canopy coverage for shade.

The lodge features a pub and restaurant serving a variety of meals including pizzas, burgers, steaks, and traditional South African dishes. A swimming pool is conveniently located near the Pub & Grub and Riverside Campsites, providing recreational facilities for guests.

During power outages (load shedding), the facility operates on generator power between 6am and 10pm, as both electricity and water supply are dependent on electrical pumps.

The lodge, through Rapid Adventures, offers river rafting experiences ranging from half-day excursions to extended four and five-night adventure trips, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation seekers and adventure enthusiasts.
