Situated on 16 hectares of pristine land in the Rietvlei/Bitou Valley, the estate lies just 2.5 km from Plettenberg Bay's town centre and beaches. The name "Kwendalo" means "of nature" in isiXhosa, reflecting the establishment's deep connection to its natural surroundings.
The centre operates on six key dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, social, and environmental. The facility offers various wellness treatments, retreats, and classes, including homeopathic consultations, yoga, ozone therapy, reflexology, and signature retreat programs. The estate features extensive gardens designed by Paul Martin, which are developed using regenerative agricultural methods.
The recently renovated Manor House provides guest accommodation through several well-appointed self-catering suites. Each suite features modern amenities including fully equipped kitchens, private bathrooms, and comfortable living areas. The rooms are thoughtfully positioned to ensure privacy and showcase views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. All suites include private patios, with most offering braai facilities and WiFi access.
The estate's Green Cafe operates on select days, serving fresh, local ingredients and whole foods, including juices, smoothies, and plant-based meals. The cafe uses Bean There's single origin coffee beans, currently featuring their "111 Blend." The estate also serves as a hub for various events, including the Bitou Birding Festival, and offers workshops such as the Pneumanity Breathwork Foundation program.
