Kwessi Dunes

Kwessi Dunes Lodge is situated within Namibia's spectacular NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast protected wilderness spanning over 200,000 hectares. The property features 12 air-conditioned chalets, each thoughtfully designed with canvas walls and thatched roofs to complement the natural surroundings.

Each accommodation includes a unique 'star gazer' room that is completely open to the sky, allowing guests to experience the magnificent celestial displays in one of Africa's first designated International Dark Sky Reserves. The rooms are equipped with both indoor and outdoor showers, and all feature private verandas overlooking the dramatic landscape of red dunes and craggy mountains.

The main lodge area offers panoramic views of the desert vistas through extensive glass windows, housing a well-stocked bar, library, and various dining spaces. Facilities include a swimming pool, complimentary laundry service, and wifi connectivity. The property is entirely solar-powered and welcomes guests of all ages.

Activities available include scenic drives, nature walks, quad biking, and stargazing. Additional experiences such as hot air ballooning, helicopter flights, horse riding, and day trips to Sossusvlei can be arranged. The reserve is home to diverse desert-adapted wildlife, including gemsbok, springbok, kudu, and occasional sightings of leopard and cheetah.

The lodge operates year-round, with the winter season (April to October) offering pleasant daytime temperatures and cool evenings, while the summer months provide opportunities to witness dramatic desert storms and migratory birds.
