La Gratitude Villa

La Gratitude Villa is a historical holiday home that offers luxurious accommodation in the coastal town of Hermanus. It has been the Pickstone family's Hermanus holiday home for 95 years. The villa was designed in 1916 and built on a property chosen for its magnificent views of Walker Bay.

The villa consists of five double rooms, four bathrooms, two sitting rooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with a courtyard. The modern kitchen is designed to assist experienced cooks and is stocked with a new hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and two fridges. The living room serves as the comfortable and restful hub of the house, featuring a large central fireplace and a tastefully discrete, yet thoroughly modern entertainment system.

La Gratitude combines modern luxurious facilities with a panoramic view of Walker Bay. Its fenced outside entertainment area includes a multi-jet, multi-functional Jacuzzi, a child-friendly pool, a 12-seater garden dining area, and a built-in braai, making it ideal for relaxed social gatherings and whale watching.

Situated in splendid seclusion on 3000 square meters of gently sloping grass rimmed by indigenous vegetation, La Gratitude is just a few steps away from secret coves, 12km of pristine beach, the Hermanus cliff paths, and a short drive from the village.

The villa offers five double rooms, including a sea-side room with a king-sized bed and a door that opens onto the sea-facing verandah, sharing a bathroom with a twin-bedded room. Two en-suite rooms enjoy mountain and garden views, one featuring a king-size bed and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs, the fifth room features two twin beds, a private sitting room, and a bathroom with a bath and separate shower.
