La Paix Guest House is situated in a quiet suburb in Beaufort West. It was started by Maxie Kritzinger approximately 13 years ago. The name "La Paix" is derived from a farm in the district that belonged to Maxie's parents. The rooms at the guest house are named after camps on that farm, and the furnishings have a farm-style aesthetic.

The current owners purchased La Paix Guest House in August 2016 and have implemented various improvements. These include the Nightsbridge booking system, ensuring all rooms have private entrances and en-suite bathrooms (some with showers only, others with baths and showers), and equipping all rooms with DSTV and flat-screen televisions.

La Paix Guest House is conveniently located and easy to find. It features 10 units, some of which are self-catering. All units are equipped with DSTV, air conditioning, bar fridges, kettles (with complimentary coffee/tea), and electric blankets. The guest house features a beautiful garden that attracts a diverse range of bird species, as well as a swimming pool. Free and secure parking is available for cars and motorcycles, and guests have access to Wi-Fi (50 megabytes for free).

From the guest house, guests can enjoy views of the Nuweveld Mountains to the north. The town of Beaufort West offers a municipal and private museum, with the latter showcasing some of the equipment used by Dr. Christiaan Barnard, the famous heart surgeon who was born and raised in the town, during the first heart transplant.

La Paix Guest House offers scrumptious breakfasts and dinners, and breakfast and lunch packs can be arranged. While the guest house does not have a liquor license, guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. Braai (barbecue) facilities are available for guests, and the establishment caters and hosts small weddings and private functions. Pets are welcome, but they must be under the full control of their owners and "house trained" (a fee of R100 per pet applies).

The guest house is owner-run, and booking for accommodation and meals is essential. One of the units is an air-conditioned unit with two single beds and a bunk bed, featuring an en-suite shower, DSTV, a bar fridge, safe, and tea/coffee station. Good security measures, including CCTV cameras and an automated electric gate, are in place, and safe parking and free Wi-Fi are provided. Braai facilities are also available.
