Lake Pleasant Resort is a tranquil, shaded resort situated midway between Wilderness and Knysna, on the shores of Groenvlei, the Garden Route's sole freshwater lake. Groenvlei forms part of the Goukamma Nature Reserve and is also part of the Knysna and Wilderness National Lakes Area. The same family has managed and owned Lake Pleasant Resort since 1962, and it features the only camping resort along a bass fishing lake in the Southern Cape.

The resort features a squash court, restaurant, pub, convenience store, take-away, bass shop, tennis court, mountain bikes for hire, two swimming pools, and a safe swimming area at the resort's Lake Beach. Additionally, Lake Pleasant offers rowing boats and canoes for hire, excellent bass fishing opportunities, private mooring facilities for personal watercraft, a large games area, and a self-service laundromat. Just over the hill, easily accessible by most vehicles, is the sea with its 14 km stretch of golden-sanded beach and the proclaimed Goukamma Marine Reserve.

Since 2002, Lake Pleasant's accommodation has proudly received an annual 3 Star self-catering grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. The resort offers well-maintained caravan and camping sites with a choice of shady, semi-shaded, and sunny sites, depending on the season and preferences. The sites feature electricity and water on each stand or nearby, and to ensure maximum comfort, there are extremely clean, large, modern ablution facilities offering plenty of hot water. There is also a well-maintained scullery and a coin-operated laundry with washing machines, tumble dryers, and ample clotheslines.
