Langfontein Guest Farm is a historic working farm nestled in the Camdeboo Conservancy, 50 kilometers from Graaff-Reinet in South Africa's Eastern Cape. The property's manor house, built in 1860 by former ZAR president Jacobus Burgers, features distinctive yellowwood floors and ceilings sourced from Knysna forest.
The farm offers three distinct accommodation options: the 1830 Cottage, a Colonial-style building with three bedrooms and two bathrooms; Dot's Cottage, a cozy stone building popular with honeymoon couples featuring one bedroom with en-suite facilities; and Westbrook, a four-bedroom Karoo farmhouse situated at the foothills of Toorberg mountain, ideal for larger groups.
All cottages have been meticulously restored to maintain their historical charm while offering modern comforts. Each accommodation features fully equipped kitchens, comfortable lounges with fireplaces, and verandahs offering scenic Karoo views. The bedrooms are furnished with white cotton percale linens, and bathrooms include Victorian baths and showers. Additional amenities include barbecue facilities, and hot water bottles are provided during winter months.
The farm provides an idyllic retreat surrounded by mountains and picturesque scenery, offering guests the opportunity to experience the tranquility of unspoiled nature, clear skies, and starlit nights. It serves as an ideal destination for families, with ample space for children to play and explore, and for visitors seeking a peaceful escape from urban life.
