Lazy Island

Lazy Island is situated on Thesen Islands in the Knysna lagoon. To enter Thesen Islands, one has to go through a 24-hour security boom, making it a very safe destination. The island offers beautiful walks to bird hides, beaches, a mashie golf course, tennis courts, squash courts, and a scenic walk around the island, especially at night. Adjacent to the residential area is the harbour town, bustling with shops, restaurants, and various tourist activities such as ferry boats, canoe hire, yacht charters, and weekend craft markets. There is also fishing available at the famous old Thesen jetty, where locals can provide tips.

The venue of Lazy Island is divided into three self-catering units: Beach, Driftwood, and Pebble. Guests can rent the entire house or just one unit, each with its own private entrance. There is a communal jetty with canoes available, and guests with their own boats can use the private mooring right next to the house, making it an ideal option for those wanting to moor their boat. The jetty is accessed from the entrance of Lazy Island. Lazy Island hangs over the water, making it a unique water destination.

Beach is the largest unit, located on the entire ground floor. It serves as the main kitchen, lounge, and dining room when renting the whole house. It features one bedroom with a luxury queen bed with 100 percent cotton linen and an en-suite bathroom with a spa bath and rain shower. Beach has a small beach garden with sand ending at the water's gabion. The verandah hangs over the water with a Weber braai and beautiful views of the water. The kitchen is fully equipped for six people with luxury equipment and granite tops. There is also an outside shower and fast Wi-Fi available.

Driftwood is located on the first floor with a view of the water. It is a romantic unit with an open plan layout. The small but fully equipped kitchen includes a bar fridge, microwave, gas hob, kettle, and toaster. The en-suite bathroom has a spa bath and a rain shower. The ambiance is island-style and relaxed. There is fast Wi-Fi available, underfloor heating, a fireplace for winter nights, and a fan for summer. The room opens up onto a balcony with loungers and a Weber braai. The luxury queen-size bed has lovely 100 percent cotton linen.

Pebble is also on the first floor with an outside staircase and a small balcony. This is the smallest unit with two single beds and lovely 100 percent cotton linen. The en-suite bathroom has a large rain shower. The kitchenette is fully equipped for two people, and fast Wi-Fi is available.
