Lemoenfontein Game Lodge, established in 1850, stands as a magnificent historical homestead in South Africa's Great Karoo region. This beautifully preserved property maintains its original architectural integrity, featuring characteristic high ceilings, authentic wooden floors, and expansive verandahs that offer sweeping views of the Karoo landscape.

The lodge seamlessly blends historical charm with modern amenities, offering 12 well-appointed en-suite bedrooms. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, wall heaters, and some feature fireplaces. All accommodations open onto wide verandahs and come complete with tea/coffee making facilities, luxury toiletries, and hairdryers. The property offers both luxury rooms in the historic Hunting Lodge and The Schuur, as well as self-catering options in The Schuur.

Guest facilities include a welcoming lounge with a fireplace, perfect for pre-dinner drinks at the honesty bar, and a TV lounge with DSTV. The outdoor area features a swimming pool and braai (barbecue) facilities set within attractive gardens. The lodge serves authentic South African home cooking, with light lunches available upon request and traditional Karoo dinners served either on the verandah during summer or in the dining room with its log fire during winter.

Activities at Lemoenfontein include early morning and late afternoon game drives, where guests can observe up to 23 different species of game, including giraffes, elands, kudus, and zebras. The property also offers excellent bird watching opportunities and walking trails.

Located just 2 kilometers from Beaufort West, off the N1 highway between Johannesburg and Cape Town, the lodge serves as an ideal stopover point. It has also established itself as a premier venue for small conferences, special occasions, and weddings, with the staff providing meticulous attention to detail for all events.

Originally built by an English gentleman as a private hunting lodge, Lemoenfontein has evolved into a haven for travelers seeking both luxury and tranquility in the heart of the Karoo.
