Leopard Plains is a luxurious tented camp strategically located near Maun in North West Botswana, positioned at the gateway to the famous Okavango Delta. The property features seven generously proportioned tented rooms that combine luxury accommodation with an authentic bushveld experience. Each room is equipped with two three-quarter beds, en-suite bathrooms, and private decks, with the flexibility to be converted into family or triple rooms.
The camp serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding wilderness, being conveniently situated just 1km from an airstrip and adjacent to both the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and Nxai Pan National Park. Guests can participate in various activities including guided game drives and bush walks led by expert guides. A particular highlight is the opportunity to witness the second-largest zebra migration in Africa, occurring between May and October, when thousands of zebras journey from the Savuti flood plains to the Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans.
The property features a pool area that provides an excellent vantage point for wildlife observation. Operating with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, the eco-friendly camp runs on solar power and utilizes bio-friendly sewage systems. While this commitment to environmental responsibility means the camp operates without air conditioning, it offers guests an authentic and environmentally conscious safari experience.
Visitors can explore the unique landscape of Nxai Pan National Park, known for its vast plains and salt pans, and observe diverse wildlife including the rare combination of both impalas and springboks in the same area. The park is also home to the historic Baines' Baobabs, ancient trees named after British explorer Thomas Baines, which provide exceptional photography opportunities.
