Leopard Valley Eco Retreat is nestled in a tranquil valley between Citrusdal and Clanwilliam in the Western Cape, South Africa. The retreat features five contemporary off-grid eco-cabins constructed from upcycled shipping containers and four boutique glamping tents. The property boasts majestic sweeping vistas and crystal clear springs, offering visitors a genuine escape from busy urban life.
The eco-cabins, named after local bird species (Verreaux's Eagle, Malachite Sunbird, Cape Canary, Cape Sugarbird, and Cape Weaver), have been thoughtfully designed to provide modern comforts while maintaining environmental consciousness. Each cabin comes fully equipped with essential amenities including WiFi, 3G connection, kitchen facilities, eco-friendly toiletries, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Despite their remote location, an on-site manager is readily available for assistance.
The four glamping tents (Waboom Protea, Wild Olive, Rooibos, and Buchu) offer a luxurious camping experience, each featuring private wood-burning hot tubs, outdoor kitchenettes, and campfire areas. Some tents share bathroom facilities while others have private bathrooms, with capacities ranging from two to three guests.
Visitors can engage in various activities including hiking, swimming, and bird watching. The area is rich in biodiversity and features remarkable rock formations, some adorned with ancient Khoisan rock paintings. At night, guests can stargaze and may encounter nocturnal wildlife such as Cape Leopards, Aardvarks, African wildcats, Bat-eared foxes, Cape foxes, and porcupines. The retreat emphasizes conservation and aims to protect its rich natural heritage for future generations.
