Lions Rock Rapids

Lions Rock Rapids is a luxury accommodation establishment situated on the banks of the Sabie River. It is located approximately 10 minutes away from the town of Hazyview in Mpumalanga, and 20 kilometers from the Phabeni Gate of the Kruger National Park, which is about a 4.5-hour drive from Johannesburg.

The lodge offers luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-safes, air conditioning, and covered patios overlooking the Sabie River. The lodge accommodation features private splash pools and jacuzzi baths for each suite. These suites are semi-self-catering, equipped with private braai facilities, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-safes, space heaters, and covered patios with sun chairs to enjoy views of the Sabie Valley.

The central guest facilities at Lions Rock Rapids include a reception area, dining area, lounge and bar, and an open-air boma on the banks of the Sabie River. Hazyview, the nearby town, is a lush, sub-tropical farming town in Mpumalanga, renowned for its large banana and macadamia nut industries, contributing approximately 20% of South Africa's bananas and 30% of its macadamia output.

Nearby attractions and activities include day trips into the Kruger National Park (with the Phabeni gate being the closest at approximately 20 minutes' drive from the camp), restaurants in and around Hazyview, quad biking, river rafting, cultural villages, the Panorama Route, and more. Guests are also welcome to take part in a 30-minute tour of the macadamia plantation on the property at a minimal surcharge.
