Long Thin Farm is an idyllic property situated on the Goukou River, 13km from Stilbaai in the Western Cape, South Africa. The estate offers three distinct accommodation options: a main Farm House and two self-catering cottages, all surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.
The Farm House, positioned directly on the riverfront, features a private pool and sleeps six people. It includes two en-suite bedrooms downstairs, a loft bedroom upstairs, and an open-plan kitchen, lounge, and dining area with stacking doors leading to a spacious veranda.
Stone Cottage and Milkwood Cottage are nestled on a hillside behind an olive grove, offering panoramic views of the river and surrounding farmland. Both cottages are self-contained and sleep four guests each. Milkwood Cottage showcases original exposed stonework, while Stone Cottage maintains its rustic charm with modern amenities. Both properties feature open-plan living areas with cast-iron fireplaces and covered stoeps.
The property offers numerous recreational activities. Guests can explore the river using provided kayaks, enjoy riverside picnic areas, and make use of a jungle gym for children. Safe hiking and cycling trails wind through untouched fynbos terrain. The Farm House includes a private jetty and launching ramp for boats. While cottage guests don't have access to the private pool, they can reach the riverfront via a short walk through the olive orchards and vines.
Located just 12km from the secure town of Stilbaai, visitors can easily access local amenities including beaches, weekend markets, an estuary, fishing harbour, golf club, restaurants, and shops. The property is pet-friendly and provides bed linen and bath towels for all guests.
