Lower Sabie Rest Camp is situated on the banks of the Sabie River, one of the perennial rivers flowing through the Kruger National Park. The camp offers a soothing view towards the river and the Lebombo Mountains beyond. From September 1, 2017, all visitors over 18 years old are required to produce a valid identification document, such as an ID, passport, or driver's license, upon entering or exiting the park.

The rates at Lower Sabie Rest Camp are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes include a 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which must be paid directly at the camp upon arrival. The camp offers various activities, including safari drives guided by experienced guides, where visitors can spot and learn about the park's animals.

Family units are available for accommodation, and children aged 6 and over are welcome to join the game drives. Additionally, the camp provides campsites with communal ablutions and cooking facilities, accommodating up to six guests per site. Accommodation must be booked for the previous night at the camp, and no meals are provided.

Lower Sabie Rest Camp offers guided wilderness walks, where up to eight guests are taken to interesting places adjacent to the camp. The walks are led by experienced and armed guides who share their knowledge of the bush and explain natural wonders. The camp also offers guided bush walks, where trained field guides with backup rifles take groups of up to eight people into the bush for a few hours. During these walks, participants can track rhinos, elephants, and lions on foot and learn fascinating facts about the African bush. Children under the age of 13 are not allowed on these walks.
