Luiperdkloof Trout Lodge is a family-owned establishment situated on a 1900-hectare working cattle farm in the scenic Balele Mountains of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Located between Wakkerstroom, Utrecht, Vryheid, and Paulpietersburg, the property is run by a young family who were drawn to the area's beautiful pastures and healthy cattle farming potential.
The lodge offers two self-catering chalets overlooking one of their trout dams. Each chalet can accommodate up to six guests and features two en-suite bedrooms furnished with a queen-size bed and two single beds, plus a sleeper couch in the lounge. The units include fully equipped kitchens and open-plan living areas with cozy fireplaces. Large patios provide scenic views and include outdoor braai (barbecue) facilities.
Visitors can enjoy various activities on the property, including fly fishing in two trout dams, exploring the area in a paddle boat, hiking through the Balele valley, and cooling off in mountain streams. The location is part of the Amajuba Birding Meander, which boasts over 400 bird species. Nearby attractions include Utrecht, a town within a game park located 30km away featuring a 9-hole golf course, and Wakkerstroom, situated 60km away, offering restaurants, coffee shops, and boutique shopping.
