Magoebaskloof Getaway

Magoebaskloof Getaway provides a stopover for business travelers, sales executives, and holidaymakers. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility where one can unwind and enjoy the lush, subtropical vegetation.

Magoebaskloof Getaway's cottages and campsites are situated in a beautiful fertile valley on the escarpment of the Drakensberg in the scenic mountainous setting of Magoebaskloof. The cottages are less than three hours' drive from Pretoria. Visitors are free to wander through the area, forests, and explore the river while enjoying the prolific bird life in this peaceful environment. The district features some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens in South Africa, with a magnificence of brilliantly colored azaleas and flowering cherries during spring.

Fly-fishing is an extremely popular pastime and sport in the beautiful mountains of Magoebaskloof, where trout fishing is available. On the farm, there is a beautiful Trout dam and another dam with bass. Recreational facilities include a volleyball court, a jungle gym for kids, and a beautiful hiking trail with three lovely waterfalls. The hiking trail goes to the top of the farm alongside a perennial stream, offering the opportunity to take a shower under the waterfall in crystal clean spring water.

The cottages have two single beds, a TV, a lounge suite with a small kitchen (open plan design), a gas stove/oven, a microwave, and a fridge/freezer. Each cottage has a lovely wooden deck of approximately 2 m x 5 m with a table, chairs, and a Weber (braai).
