Malherbe Guesthouse is a national monument that was built in 1859. It has been lovingly restored and offers five en-suite rooms, with four rooms having private entrances and patios or verandahs as accommodation. The rooms are equipped with amenities such as bar fridges, electronic safes, fans, heaters for the winter, hospitality trays, hairdryers, Wi-Fi hot spots, air-conditioning units for cooling and heating, and TVs with DStv.

The guesthouse features a spacious guest lounge where guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of Montagu Muscadel. The lounge overlooks a lovely secluded garden with beautiful views of the Langeberg Mountains. Guests can take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or relax in the shade on comfortable lounge chairs. In the mornings, a scrumptious breakfast with homemade bread, fresh orange juice, and other items is served on the terrace under the vines overlooking the garden or indoors.

Malherbe Guesthouse is perfectly located in Montagu, a historical village situated on the legendary Route 62, winding through the Breede River Valley, halfway between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn, and above the Garden Route. Secure off-street parking is available, and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The guesthouse is an official Carrol Boyes stockist.

Children under the age of 12 are not allowed at the guesthouse. Children over the age of 12 are welcome and will be charged as adults. The guesthouse offers complete privacy with separate entrances and private patios. The contemporary rooms are decorated with African touches and feature spacious bedrooms with queen-size beds, TVs with DStv, bar fridges, electronic safes, Wi-Fi hot spots, air-conditioning units for cooling and heating, and electric blankets for chilly winter nights. The spacious bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers, shaver points, and large walk-in showers.
