Mali Mali Safari Lodge is situated in the Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve, which is around 35 kilometers outside the small town of Hoedspruit. The reserve covers an area of 1000 hectares and is bordered by the great Olifants River, offering the beauty of nature. Due to the reserve's size, visitors can truly enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Lowveld bush.

The reserve has a healthy population of various animal species, including Waterbuck, Kudu, Nyala, Impala, Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Duiker, Wild Dogs, and other small animals. It is also home to numerous bird species, making it an ideal destination for avid birders. The nocturnal species found in the reserve include Civet cat, Genet, Porcupine, Aardvark, and the elusive Caracal.

The reserve is categorized as a savanna biome, with very large Sycamore Fig, Jackal Berry, and Tamboti trees along the Olifants River boundary, providing a haven for birdlife and welcome shade during the warm summer months. The central and southern parts of the reserve are hilly and feature numerous Acacia trees, Marula trees, and the iconic Leadwood tree.

Mali Mali Safari Lodge is located at the center of this wonderful reserve and was built over 30 years ago by the world-renowned sculptor Anton Smit. The previous owners never opened it to the public, keeping this unique combination of art and nature hidden away. The Lodge was recently bought by a new owner, revamped, restored, and opened to the public for the first time in 30 years, with the goal of sharing this one-of-a-kind wonderland with those who love the African bushveld and nature.

One of the beautiful units at Mali Mali Safari Lodge is called "Akkedis," which features a unique creative design consisting of a fish eagle headboard and a fireplace. The room has a king-size bed, a full bathroom, and guests can make use of the communal fully equipped kitchen.
