The Mansfield Private Reserve is a three-star establishment located in Port Alfred, a short distance from the town. It is situated within the Eastern Cape bushveld, where various plains game, including giraffes and zebras, roam freely. The reserve features picturesque hiking trails that visitors can explore safely on foot. The indigenous Aloe plants thrive on the farm, and their bright orange blooms are a striking sight when in bloom. While a 4x4 vehicle is not required to access Mansfield, it is advisable to have a high-clearance vehicle.

Mansfield Private Reserve offers both indoor and outdoor self-catering accommodation options. The original farmhouse, equipped with a fully-functional kitchen, can accommodate up to eight guests. Guests staying in the farmhouse also have access to a private swimming pool and braai area. A smaller cottage can accommodate up to four guests and features a stoep with a braai, overlooking the bushveld. The Eagle's Nest Cabin provides a completely off-the-grid experience, with a kitchenette equipped with a small gas stove and fridge, battery-operated and paraffin-powered lighting, and an old-fashioned "donkey" system for hot water in the shower. Outdoor accommodation includes camping sites and tree-top platforms with bunk beds, which appeal particularly to young outdoor enthusiasts.

Day visitors are welcome at Mansfield Private Reserve, where designated picnic and braai spots, a kids play area, and a swimming pool are available. The reserve offers guided nature walks, unguided game drives, birding, and fishing opportunities. Open-vehicle game drives can be arranged upon request. Additionally, there are eight camping sites available, each accommodating a maximum of five people.
