Marataba Mountain Lodge

Marataba Mountain Lodge is situated on the side of a mountain, offering panoramic 180-degree views into Waterfall Valley. It is a secluded wilderness retreat that can accommodate no more than 10 guests at a time. The architect and interior designer were tasked with creating a lodge that seamlessly blends with the natural environment, using materials and designs inspired by the surroundings.

Every aspect of the lodge, from the stones and ledges to the windows, furniture, and soft furnishings, is carefully crafted to complement and enhance the outdoor experience without competing with it. Only the finest materials, such as premium timber and high-quality cotton sheeting, were used in the construction and furnishings, ensuring a luxurious yet harmonious experience for guests.

The off-grid lodge embraces a 'Scandi-Safari' style, lightly perched on the earth and powered primarily by solar energy, reflecting its commitment to respecting the environment. The pool area, located amidst natural rocks and Wild Olive trees, offers complete privacy while remaining conveniently accessible for service. The 6-meter-long martini step provides the perfect spot to enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley at sunset, perhaps accompanied by a refreshing gin and tonic.

Each of the five Eco Suites exudes sophisticated simplicity, designed to avoid distractions and allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the surroundings. The suites are equipped with all the necessary amenities for a luxurious stay, including a king-sized bed, maxibar, Nespresso machine, wood-burning fireplace, en-suite rain shower, and a shaded viewing deck.
