Marataba Safari Lodge is a luxury accommodation located in the privately-managed section of the malaria-free Marakele National Park. The national park is known as a 'place of sanctuary' in the Tswana language, conserving an area of 67,000 hectares of the Limpopo Waterberg's biodiversity, as well as historical Iron Age sites of great significance. The park is home to various wildlife species, including the Big Five and an abundant number of bird species. Notably, it houses the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures in the world, with around 800 breeding pairs.

The park's flora is diverse, with rare plant species such as yellowwood and cedar trees, ancient cycads, and fern trees flourishing in the area. Marataba Safari Lodge offers a remote and secluded getaway located in the lap of mountains, providing guests with an opportunity to unwind or seek adventure with loved ones, friends, or on their own. While not out on safari, the lodge provides a home-from-home atmosphere, where guests can relax by the pool, indulge in a spa treatment, or simply find their perfect spot to soak in the surroundings.

The lodge features fifteen luxury tents constructed with stone and canvas. These tents are far from basic, each equipped with a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom (including an oval bathtub large enough for a luxurious soak), outdoor shower, craft bar, and a shaded viewing deck.
