Mariquensis

Mariquensis is a property that offers comfortable self-catering accommodation on a farm located just 5 km from the town of Groot Marico. It has two cottages located in a valley surrounded by mountains and rivierine forest, on the banks of the pristine Groot-Marico River. The cottages have a rustic ambience with all the modern facilities for self-catering.

Each cottage can accommodate between four and six people and offers a patio with braai facilities. Guests can relax while listening to the sounds of nature, and are advised to bring their own firewood and charcoal. Besides listening to the sound of the water over the rapids and the abundance of bird calls, guests can also engage in canoeing, fishing, bird watching, and swimming in the river. There is a walking trail available for those who need exercise.

The property features large grassed areas suitable for children to play and explore, as well as a small jungle gym to keep the little ones entertained. One of the cottages is a fully furnished self-catering unit with three bedrooms, accommodating up to six people. It has a lounge dining room and a well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, a fridge-freezer, and all cutlery provided. Bedding is included, but guests are required to bring their own towels.

The cottage has a large outside verandah located under a canopy of large trees, offering beautiful views. Mariquensis has no cellphone reception, providing a perfect opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle. There are no staff onsite to provide cleaning services.
