Matjiesvlei Guest Farm

Matjiesvlei Guest Farm is situated at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains between Calitzdorp and Ladismith, where farming dates back as far as 1821. The farm offers a serene and tranquil beauty for visitors to enjoy. It provides accommodation in four historic and quaint self-catering cottages located in a picturesque valley.

Each cottage is equipped with a kitchen, barbecue facilities, bedding, oil lamps, candles, and hot water. For those who prefer to be closer to nature, the farm offers a camping site called Die Dam Rivierkamp, situated on the shores of the Gamka River. This shady 4x4 bush camp features modern ablution blocks with hot water and is located on the banks of the Gamka River.

Die Wahuis is a restored building designed for couples to enjoy a breathtaking view of manicured lucerne fields, the winding Gamka River, and the majestic Swartberg Mountain Range. It includes a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, and a stoep with a braai. The house does not have electricity but is equipped with sufficient candles, oil lamps, and a donkey boiler for hot water. Additionally, there is an outbuilding with one honeymoon bedroom featuring a double bed and a separate bedroom with a double bed and bathroom.
