Mavela Game Lodge

Mavela Game Lodge is an exclusive luxury tented camp nestled in the Manyoni Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This family-owned establishment comprises seven luxury en-suite safari-style tents, each featuring air conditioning, private decks overlooking the bushveld, and both indoor and outdoor shower facilities. The tents are equipped with eco-friendly amenities and offer either single or king-sized beds with crisp white linens.

The main lodge is a two-story thatched structure featuring an open-plan design with multiple lounging areas, a self-service upstairs bar, and spacious dining facilities. The building opens onto a swimming pool and large wooden veranda that overlooks a watering hole and provides panoramic views of the African bushveld.

Set within 23,000 hectares of wilderness, the reserve is home to over 70 mammal species, including the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, and both Black and White Rhino), as well as Cheetah, Hyena, Giraffe, and various antelope species. The property is also renowned for its exceptional birding opportunities, with over 420 recorded bird species.

The lodge operates on an all-inclusive basis, offering early morning refreshments, full English and continental breakfasts, light lunches, and three-course dinners. All meals and beverages, including alcoholic drinks and quality wines, are included in the stay. Professional guides conduct game drives and various safari activities, including walking safaris, birding safaris, and photographic safaris.

Security is maintained with perimeter fencing, and guests are escorted to their accommodations after dinner. The lodge has earned recognition for delivering high-quality safari experiences while maintaining an intimate atmosphere in this unique part of the African bush.
