Mawusi Bush Lodge is situated on the greenbelt of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate in Limpopo Province, South Africa. The property features magnificent Leadwood, Maroela, and Knobthorn trees, offering an authentic Lowveld bush experience with uninterrupted views of the African bush and the Drakensberg mountains.
The 680-hectare estate encompasses a river bed with riverine forests and hosts abundant wildlife. Visitors can observe various plains game at the lodge's waterhole, including sable, kudu, nyala, waterbuck, bushbuck, impala, zebra, wildebeest, duiker, and giraffe. The property also attracts elusive leopards, while hyenas and wild dogs have been spotted on the estate. Nocturnal wildlife includes porcupine, civet, African wildcat, jackal, genet, and rarely seen honey badgers and aardvarks.
The lodge offers a perfect blend of bush experience and convenience, being just a few kilometers from Hoedspruit town and 16 kilometers from Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport, which operates daily flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town. Its strategic location serves as an ideal base for visiting the Kruger National Park (65 km to Orpen gate) and the Panorama Route, accessible through the JG Strydom tunnel.
The establishment provides self-catering accommodation in luxury queen suites with en-suite bathrooms. While primarily self-catering, breakfast services are available by prior arrangement and can be served in the dining room or on the breakfast patio. The lodge offers complimentary shuttle services for up to two persons with luggage, with additional transport arrangements available upon request.
