Meijer's Rust Guest Farm

Meijer's Rust Guest Farm is a working farm that provides various accommodation options within the heart of the stunning Meiringspoort, located just outside the beautiful village of De Rust. The farm offers guests the opportunity to stay in the lovely Stone House, a Chalet, the Milk Barn, or the Campground in the mountains.

The romantic Stone House is situated on a plateau and is suitable for two people. It is furnished with a comfortable double bed and has an outside bathroom that includes a bath and shower. The unit is equipped with a gas fridge, a stove, and a built-in braai area. The Stone House also serves as a starting point for the farm's wonderful hiking trails.

The open-plan Chalets are furnished with comfortable queen-size beds and sleeper couches for two children. Extra bedding is available, and each en-suite bathroom consists of a bath. The units are air-conditioned and equipped with a kitchenette that includes a stove, microwave, fridge, and tea and coffee facilities.

The air-conditioned Milk Barn is located near a Chalet but offers privacy. The cottage has two bedrooms furnished with a double bed and bunk bed for children. The bathroom is shared between the rooms and consists of a shower. The kitchenette is equipped with a stove, microwave, fridge, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

The Campground is situated high in the Swartberg Mountains and offers spectacular views over the Kamanassie and Outeniqua mountains. Ablution facilities with hot water and braai facilities are provided, but the Campground can only be accessed by 4x4 vehicles or motorcycles.

Meijer's Rust offers lovely hiking trails that lead to the top of the Swartberg Mountain, natural waterfalls, pools, and rare San rock art. Fit guests can enjoy mountain bike trails with an elevation level of 500 meters. Birders will appreciate the area, as over 180 species have been recorded on the farm, and a wide variety of plants can be seen.

The Stone Cottage has been the venue for many romantic moments, proposals, and weddings, providing a magical spot on the mountain overlooking the beautiful fields, where guests can be secluded and one with nature. Meijer's Rust is a working cattle farm with horses and eland, offering endless space for children to run and have adventures, dams for swimming, hiking trails, and an opportunity to find a waterfall and swim in the icy cold mountain water. A newly established lower campsite offers a light, power point, and braai facility at each site, shared shower, toilet, and basin units with an outside washup area with gas geysers. All sites are accessible by normal vehicles.
