Mhondoro Game Lodge is a luxury five-star accommodation located within the Welgevonden Game Reserve, a malaria-free and Big 5 game reserve in Limpopo, South Africa. The main lodge and private villa have recently undergone renovations, and the interior of the suites has been refurbished, offering a tasteful blend of African chic and contemporary design.

The child-friendly lodge has gained popularity for its new underground waterhole hide, which is connected to the main lodge by a tunnel, providing an easy, safe, and unique opportunity to observe animals drinking at the waterhole in front of the lodge. Mhondoro is the only five-star safari lodge that offers this feature.

Mhondoro is family-friendly yet private and quiet, catering to small groups seeking to relax and explore the abundant wildlife during game drives. For those who prefer ultimate relaxation or fitness activities, the lodge offers a spa and gym, including a team of qualified and experienced beauty therapists. The pool, sauna, bar, and lounge are available for all guests throughout the day. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms and are serviced daily.

The lodge is conveniently located a 2-hour and 45-minute drive from O.R. Tambo International Airport, making it an ideal safari destination for travelers arriving in Johannesburg. Alternatively, guests can opt for a shorter journey by taking a small plane, which offers an amazing experience of flying over the Welgevonden Game Reserve upon approach to the runway.
