Miss Chrissie's Country House

Miss Chrissie's Country House is a restored sandstone building dating back to the 1870s, offering accommodation in a charming rural setting. The property comprises nine en-suite guest rooms, each with its own unique character and exquisite linen furnishings. Some rooms feature original fireplaces, providing a cozy ambiance. In addition to the guest rooms, there is a private self-catering cottage located in the garden, which includes three bedrooms, a bathroom, an open-plan living area with a fireplace, and a kitchenette.

The establishment also offers a small campsite situated in an oak forest, where guests can pitch their tents or park their caravans. The communal lounge area features a large open fireplace and serves as the primary location for dinner service. Guests can enjoy relaxing evenings with family or friends, savoring delicious meals and music. Furthermore, there is a pool room with an open fireplace and an honesty bar stocked with wine from the property's old wine rack, although guests are welcome to bring their own beverages as a fridge with ice is available.

The charming restaurant is furnished with lovely pieces and adjoins a large entertainment area with a built-in braai and a view of the lake. Guests can experience beautiful sunsets over the lake while enjoying a sundowner on the veranda or strolling through the extensive gardens. The property offers opportunities for guests to participate in farm activities involving sheep, cattle, and geese, as well as feeding calves or learning to milk a cow.

Meals are prepared by reservation only, with a minimum of one week's notice required. Dinner is priced at an additional R160 per person per meal, while breakfast is an additional R120 per person per meal. Children under the age of 10 are charged R80 for dinner and R70 for breakfast.
