Misty Mountain

Misty Mountain is a 280-hectare South African Natural Heritage Site located on the Long Tom Pass at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level. The property lies 31 kilometers from Lydenburg and 24 kilometers from Sabie in a malaria-free area, offering spectacular views across the escarpment and Lowveld.

Strategically positioned on the "Panorama Route," the establishment serves as an ideal base for exploring the Mpumalanga Escarpment's attractions, including God's Window, The Pinnacle, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and Blyde River Canyon. Its proximity to the Kruger National Park and adjacent private game reserves adds to its appeal.

Under the ownership and management of the Sheard family since 1974, Misty Mountain operates as a lodge offering a relaxed, informal atmosphere. The establishment features various accommodation options, including 14 Studio Units, 11 Four Sleeper Family Units, two Six Sleeper Family Units, and a ten-bed self-catering farmhouse. All units are equipped with country-style amenities, including open fireplaces, private verandas, and braai facilities.

The property boasts a restaurant specializing in superior country cooking, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner from an extensive a la carte menu. On-site activities include guided quad biking, trout fishing, walking trails, birdwatching, and mountain biking. The establishment can accommodate up to 80 guests for functions, featuring a gazebo or chapel for ceremonies and a dedicated function room.

Additional amenities include a TV lounge and reading room, two swimming pools, an indoor games room, an outdoor children's playground, a curio shop, extensive gardens, and board games for hire.
