Modderkloof Farm Accommodation is a working fruit farm situated at the foot of the Drakenstein Mountains near the Huguenot Tunnel on the N1. The property produces guavas, plums, buchu, and wine grapes, with the latter being delivered to Boland Wine Cellars. The guest accommodation, which was formerly a family homestead of the third-generation Grobbelaars, has been renovated and converted into three self-catering units.
Located approximately 10 minutes from the town center, local schools, and hospitals, the accommodation shares its grounds with the main farm residence. Guests have access to various amenities including a swimming pool at the main residence and hiking opportunities on the farm's higher grounds, offering spectacular views of the valley, Paarl Mountain, the Taalmonument, and Table Mountain on clear days. The property features a tennis court and welcomes mountain bikers, with guests encouraged to explore the vineyards and enjoy picnics anywhere on the farm grounds.
The accommodation consists of three distinct units: a studio apartment with a king-size bed and kitchenette; a two-bedroom apartment featuring a master bedroom with king-size/twin option and a family room with multiple beds, both with en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace, and braai facilities; and a one-bedroom apartment with a king-size/twin bed option, bathroom, open-plan kitchen/living area with sleeper couch, and outdoor braai facilities. The property is secured through membership in the Drakenstein farm watch and features a working alarm system in all guest areas. Farm tours are available upon request.
