Montagu Springs

Montagu Springs is a self-catering resort located approximately two hours away from Cape Town, situated in the heart of the renowned Route 62. This scenic alternative to the N2 highway is also the longest wine route in the Western Cape, where outstanding wines are produced due to the harmoniously balanced terrain and mild climate. The town of Montagu, famous for its Muscadel, is in close proximity to both the Robertson Wine Valley and Breede River Valley, and is well-known for its hot springs, as well as its eco, wellness, and adventure sports offerings.

Each chalet at Montagu Springs features a private barbecue area, with larger barbecue drums on wheels available upon request for larger groups. The fully furnished self-catering chalets are equipped with fully-equipped kitchens, private barbecue facilities, and heating and cooling air-conditioning throughout. The open-plan living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and impeccably clean. The chalets vary in price, ranging from the great value Small Plettenbergs to the luxuriously private Villas.

Pedal cars imported from Italy are available for hire and provide great fun for the entire family, along with a variety of bicycles and mountain bikes. Three tennis courts can be enjoyed during the day and in the evening under floodlights. Guests also have access to various hot, cold, and children's pools. Golden Terrace guests have exclusive use of a private pool, while Villa guests have exclusive use of the Villa pool located on the Villa Terrace set against the mountainside. Additionally, the resort offers award-winning hot and cold pools and daily bird-feeding activities, making it the perfect destination for families.

Children can enjoy a heated children's swimming pool, a cool swimming pool, a play park, a jungle gym, tennis courts, as well as a 5-a-side astro soccer turf. Each chalet comprises two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan dining area, and a lounge with a cozy fireplace, perfect for chilly winter evenings. The large private patio leading off the living area incorporates a spacious built-in barbecue positioned under retractable awnings to protect guests from the all-year-round sunshine while providing outstanding views of the surrounding mountains, orchards, and vineyards. The centrally located recreational area includes a large swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees and a communal barbecue facility.
