Mopani Rest Camp is located within Kruger National Park and is managed by Sanparks. It is named after the mopane veld that surrounds the camp, which is characterized by mopani tree-covered hills. A notable feature of the camp is a massive, gnarled, old baobab tree situated in its heart. The vegetation inside the camp is left in its natural state, contributing to the unique atmosphere of the camp.

The rates at Mopani Rest Camp are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes for accommodation include a 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which must be paid directly to the camp upon arrival. From September 1, 2017, all visitors over the age of 18 are required to produce a valid identification document, such as an ID, passport, or driver's license, for scanning upon entering and exiting the park.

South African National Parks has hosted numerous weddings and special family events over the years. With unique surroundings, tranquil settings, superb facilities, and enthusiastic staff, they aim to create memorable experiences for couples celebrating their marriages.

Mopani Rest Camp offers safari drives guided by experienced guides, allowing visitors to spot various animals in the park and learn more about them. Accommodation units are available for families, and children aged 6 and over are welcome to participate in the game drives offered.

For those interested in exploring the wilderness areas adjacent to the camp on foot, guided walks are available. These walks must be booked for the previous night, and no meals are provided. Groups of up to eight guests are taken to interesting places by experienced and armed guides, who share their knowledge of the bush and explain natural wonders.

Additionally, trained field guides with backup rifles take groups of up to eight people on bush walks, tracking rhinos, elephants, and lions on foot. These walks provide opportunities to learn and observe fascinating facts about the African bush. Children under the age of 13 are not allowed on these guided bush walks.
