Motswiri Private Safari Lodge

Motswiri Private Safari Lodge is nestled in the western region of the Madikwe Game Reserve, a 75,000-hectare malaria-free sanctuary in South Africa's North West Province. The reserve is home to the Big Five and the lodge provides an intimate safari experience that distinguishes itself from larger establishments.

Set among mature Leadwood trees, the lodge commands some of Madikwe's most impressive vistas. The property consists of five Luxury Bush Villas and one Luxury Family Villa, all designed to optimize the natural surroundings while providing premium comfort. The Bush Villas feature modern amenities including air-conditioning, ceiling fans, gas fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms, outdoor rock showers, and private wrap-around wooden decks. The Family Villa offers three en-suite rooms, each with its own fireplace, plus a private lounge and deck overlooking a dedicated plunge pool and boma.

The main lodge area provides separate lounge, dining, and bar facilities, each equipped with fireplaces for winter comfort. During warmer months, guests can enjoy dining in the outdoor boma. Additional facilities include a rim-flow pool overlooking a waterhole, where guests can observe wildlife while relaxing.

The lodge accommodates up to 16 guests, making it ideal for both individual bookings and exclusive group reservations. Located just three and a half hours from Johannesburg, the property is accessible by road or air, with daily chartered flights available to the reserve's all-weather airstrip. The lodge offers twice-daily game drives conducted by experienced rangers in specially designed land cruiser vehicles, with commentary tailored to guests' knowledge levels. Additional services include aromatherapy massages, which require advance booking.
