Mount Ceder Lodge is nestled in the Cederberg Mountains, occupying a valley surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes along the main route through the Cederberg range. The property features twelve fully equipped self-catering houses, accommodating between two to six guests, and three private campsites with dedicated ablution facilities.
The self-catering accommodations come comprehensively equipped with all essential amenities, including linen, towels, kitchen equipment, and appliances. Each house features both an indoor fireplace and outdoor braai/BBQ area. Guests can enjoy dining at the Old Mill House Restaurant, which serves various meals throughout the day, and visit the on-site Curio shop offering local products including extra virgin olive oil and kalamata olives.
The lodge provides numerous recreational activities, such as hiking, river swimming, canoeing, mountain biking, and rock art exploration. Located approximately three hours from Cape Town, the Cederberg region is distinguished by its unique sandstone formations and shale bands containing fossil discoveries. The area is also renowned for its rooibos tea cultivation, with opportunities to visit local farms.
One notable accommodation, Blinkberg house, is positioned on the Tuinskloof ridge slopes, providing views of the Klipbokkop mountain range. This particular house features two en-suite bedrooms (one double and one twin), a loft room, an indoor fireplace, and an outdoor braai area.
