The Mountain Splendour Eco-Resort is a 4-star graded camping and caravan eco-resort situated on a farm facing the peaks of Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak, and Sterkhorn in the Monk's Cowl Reserve, which is part of the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg National Park. It is located in the Champagne Valley. The resort offers grass and gravel sites suitable for camping, caravanning, and camper vans.

The sites are large and shady, with each site equipped with electricity, a braai, and a dustbin. The resort prefers not to have more than six guests per site but can accommodate up to eight guests per site for larger family groups. Guests have access to additional freezer space and can refill gas bottles on-site. The resort's staff assists with setting up tents or caravans while guests can enjoy a complimentary cup of tea.

Alternatively, guests can rent self-catering Safari Tents or Plettenbergs Self-catering Units. The Safari Tents include bedding, furniture, lights, linens, cutlery, crockery, a stove, and a fridge, and are serviced daily. The Plettenbergs Self-catering Units feature two separate bedrooms, a lounge, dinette, kitchenette, toilet, bath, basin, and limited DStv, with all linens, crockery, and cutlery provided and daily servicing.

Facilities and activities at Mountain Splendour include tennis courts, a volleyball court, a swimming pool, table tennis, darts, TV, short walking trails, hikes around the farm, mountain biking trails, and tubing in the local river (water levels permitting). The resort is suitable for hosting weddings and family functions, with the majestic mountains providing a spectacular backdrop. Two golf courses are located within 5 km of the resort.

There is a large children's playground, an animal farm where kids can interact with various farm animals, and ample open spaces, tennis courts, and mountain biking trails for kids to explore. The gravel sites are suitable for camping, caravanning, and camper vans, with each site featuring a 15-amp electricity supply, a braai, and a dustbin. The gravel portion of the site measures 8 m by 8 m, and larger caravans can be parked behind the gravel area, with tents pitched on the gravel portion.
