Mountain View Ranch

Mountain View Ranch is a ranch situated on a 24-hectare property, with the picturesque Little Mooi River running through its fields. The ranch features horses, blesbok, and Nguni cows grazing in the paddocks, creating a nature lover's dream. The majestic Mount Lebanon overlooks the ranch, and on a clear day, the Giant and Cleopatra mountains are visible. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as swimming, fishing, and picnicking by the river. For those seeking relaxation, the veranda offers a serene setting to observe the abundant birdlife and sip cocktails after a busy week.

The ranch is frequented by various bird species, including vultures, fish eagles, martial eagles, crowned eagles, kites, kestrels, and many smaller birds. Guests are advised to bring a camera, binoculars, and a bird book to fully appreciate the rich avian diversity.

The comfortable and relaxed family ranch features five double bedrooms, two of which are en-suite, and a bunk room that sleeps four. All bedrooms offer magnificent views of the mountains. The farmhouse features three bathrooms and one guest toilet. The spacious kitchen and dining room lead to the piazza area, which includes an additional dining table, a fireplace, and a large pizza oven. This central area serves as a gathering place to escape dramatic mountain storms, enjoy wine, or simply chat with friends and family. The large, comfortable lounge adjoining the piazza is perfect for lazy days spent reading a book or enjoying a cup of coffee in front of the roaring fire.

For smaller families, the ranch also offers a beautiful self-contained cottage that sleeps four. The surrounding area provides beautiful nature trails accessible from the paddock gate, ideal for mountain biking, walking, running, swimming, or exploring the river in the fresh mountain air. Guests can challenge themselves by riding or walking to the Highmore Nature Reserve, a World Heritage Site and the source of the Little Mooi River.

Visitors staying at Mountain View Ranch receive an honorary membership during their stay, allowing them to fish at any of the Wild Fly fishing dams, of which there are more than 10 within a 10-kilometer radius. Inquiries about fishing should be made during the reservation process.
